Possible to grow a tree from a branch?
When you snip off a branch off a tree, stick it in soil, treat it like a bonsai, will the branch grow roots? (possible the dumbest question ever asked )

caitxsith,
No dumb questions. Some species will root from fairly thick cuttings, Willow comes to mind and Olive I believe. Others are not as easy, rooting from semi-hardwood cuttings which by necessity are much smaller.
If you want to root a thicker branch of such a species look to air layering. You need to research each species you are working with.
