overheating roots?
I am currently keeping all of my bonsai outside, and it gets hot (80-90F). Some of my bonsai are in dark pots, and I was wondering if the roots in some dark pots could become "cooked". If so is there anything I can do to prevent it? I would move one out of full sun, but it is regrowing defoilated leaves, and I don't want to stress it to much (it is a ficus, if that makes a diffrence as of what to do).

bonsaiboy,
My climate is much the same as yours right now and my Ficus are in full sun. They seem to love the heat. As long as you keep up with the watering I don't think that you will have any issues with overheating. Let the plant be your guide. How are they doing so far? Growing like gangbusters I bet.
