Hi! I just received a Juniper Bonsai for Christmas. I live in zone 7a and its in its 30s. The bonsai I received was purchased from a greenhouse. My question is if I put this tree outside during the cold will it put it into shock since its been in a greenhouse? I've read several forums and sites on these types of trees and I just don't want to kill it because of this.

Thank you :)

Do you have a garage or deep porch, that is minimally protected?

Indoors is soooo dry that it can ovewhelm a junipers ability to take up water. Litteraly mummifying it in place.

Central air or heat kills thousands of junipers every year.

Unfortunately I don't have a garage. I have 2 decks that are not enclosed that I've put the bondai out on. I've had the bonsai since Christmas and I've noticed that the branches are starting to turn brown.

I've done the soil test by putting a skewer in the dirt to see if it needs water or not. I also only had it in the house for one day until I realized it was an outside tree. I'm not exactly sure if it is dying or I'm doing something wrong.
