Brittany,
Welcome to the forum.
Please remove the "[IMG]" from the end of your second link - It does not work properly unless that is removed.
The first thing I suggest you do is remove the large rocks [And the smaller surface ones also if they are glued on as they appear to be] and all the other paraphernalia from the surface of the soil.
About the soil...Please read the stickys at the top of the forum for general care and see how your soil compares.
Here is some juniper information to familiarize yourself with: https://www.bonsai4me.com/SpeciesGuide/Juniperus.html
As well as a bit about watering, [Yours is not sufficient.]: https://www.bonsai4me.com/Basics/Basics_Watering.html
If you start at the top of the following link [And keep reading each article] you will find a lot of bonsai info that you will find both informative and helpful: https://www.bonsai4me.com/Basics.html
Brown is not a natural color for a healthy juniper at all, Most are dead long before they turn brown as a juniper can retain its color for weeks or even months after its demise.
To test yours, Scratch the bark with your thumbnail in an unobtrusive spot [Down to the cambium layer] if you see a pale green color - There is life within. If you see any other color [IE: brown, tan..etc.] You have an ex-juniper on your hands.
It is difficult to offer any specific advice as you do not indicate how long you have had it, nor your location, or anything about the environment that the tree lives in [Junipers belong outdoors by the way 24/7/365 every day of the year, They are not an indoor species. Note what is said about 'Position' in the species guide I linked you to above.]
Please get back to us with more info .

This tells us absolutely nothing about the care you give it as we are not able to see the instructions you received. Please explain further about the care it gets as well as its environment.brittany wrote:I recently got a Juniper bonsai, and I have followed the directions and everything the way I was told to do by the person I bought it from:

Thank you for the information you gave. Well I have had it for a few months and all I was told to do is water it 1 cup every week. Nothing else, nothing about fertilizer, or that it needs to be outdoors so I have had it in my house ever since I got it. I live in Farmington New Mexico, it is VERY hot here, so if it still has a chance at surviving would it burn because its been inside since I got it? And I will fix my pics & re-post when I have a chance. I tested mine, scratched w/my nail & there was green!!! And I put it outside I hope that helps. I took put the paraphernalia and the little rocks on the top of the soil but couldnt take out the big rocks (There part of the tray its in)
