first tree is a chinese yew according to the tree's I have seen in a local garden center

I'm not sure about the second but its a type of ffern used in bottle gardens

Possibly, But which one: Both Taxus chinensis https://www.bonsai4me.com/SpeciesGuide/Taxus.html
& Podocarpus macrophyllus https://www.bonsai4me.com/SpeciesGuide/Podocarpus.html
are commonly called Chinese Yew. [Check out the google search: https://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=chinese+yew
] Usually it refers to the podocarpus.
