Birds Nest Pine or Juniper for first Bonsai?

They had both at my local nursery, and I was wondering if one would be better than the other for a first bonsai. I know that many use the Juniper, but what about the Birds Nest Pine? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks It's funny because a couple years ago, I said to myself that I would never be into bonsai. All of a sudden I've developed an interest. Never say never I suppose

I picked up some books from the library, and found out that the junipers grow faster than the pines do. This may make for a better first bonsai.

baileysup,

Sorry, I have no experience with that Pine species. I do agree that Juniper would probably be a better choice for a novice. Please make sure to update us on your purchase.

I just found out that "Birds nest Pine" may be a spruce. I don't know the difference between a pine and spruce. Thanks Gnome
