New Hinoki

So here's my new hinoki cypress. I'd like to straighten the trunk out, though, and since this is my first bonsai, I'm really not sure how to go about achieving the desired result.

Splint? Wire? Or... ?

Straightening a trunk is sorta like cutting the fins off of a '57 caddy.

They'd take away by trees if I did that. ;)

It's your tree though, so if you want to straighten it, then so be it. My guess is to use wire, but I'm a bonsai virgin, and have no experience yet. Should have my first one in a few days. I personally prefer trunks with bends or irregularities to them as it provides additional character, and makes the tree unique. But by all means, if you wish to straighten it, then cool. It's all what YOU want your tree to look like.
