The cost of being shallow

Is, it don't take much to flip the tree out of its pot. One of my crabs resides on a bench underneath two bird feeders.

Did the neighbors cat flip the tree reaching for a bird? Did the birds fall off the feeder fightin'? And take the crab with them as they fell?

Chances are good, I'll never know. It was however abundantly clear its past time to wire that particular tree to its pot. And replace scattered soil.

Job done, and a nice liberal watering. All better now.

Tom,

Glad you caught it in time. One of mine was found like that one morning and if I had not checked that day before I left it would have been a goner for sure.
