Madmax,
Welcome :)

Please try a closer view with a solid colored background as it makes tree details easier to distinguish you know..8)

Thanks for the bigger pics, Your getting closer. It is still difficult to tell and there are many things it could be ...:)

Or take new ones using these photo tips https://www.helpfulgardener.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3557.

Any additional info you could offer [Such as that which is mentioned in the link] would be helpful also.

Perhaps the retailer where you [Or if it was a gift 'where they'] got it could be of assistance?

Please get back to us and we will try to help you out.

Ok,

We are getting somewhere... Thanks for hanging in there- I appreciate the effort..:D. It is still fairly blurry though.

Question: Are the leaves surface rough and a bit scratchy - like a cats tongue? If so it is a fukien tea tree.

There are many possibilities out there though including , Ligustrum, Lagerstroemia, Possibly even a Chinese elm or Ficus [both doubtful]

It is still fairly blurry though.

If your feeling ambitious you could look at the picturesat this site and see if you recognize any of the foliage as similar to yours.

I hope this is helping just a bit, How long have you had it?

Ok,

You have a Fukien tea tree.

This is a care sheet about your tree: https://www.bonsai4me.com/SpeciesGuide/Carmona.html

I also suggest that you read many of the articles on this page: https://www.bonsai4me.com/Basics.html

Check out the ones about beginners bonsai as well as the ones that refer to soil and watering, & positioning will be especially relevant to you.

You will learn much from those pages.

good luck,

ynot
