Suitable trees native to the UK?

Afternoon. I have a couple of oaks, a hawthorn, a sloe and a couple of native conifers and was wondering what people's suggestions were for other trees that do well in the british climate (preferably native and non-coniferous)? I was looking at trying a beech though I hear they grow quite slow (particularly with our tempermental sun) and was hoping for something with a bit more pace behind it's aging? Any suggestions and opinions are recieved in thanks.

Don't you guys have Hornbeams? I'm pretty sure you do and they're one of the classic genuses of deciduous bonsai. You also didn't mention any maple. Acer campestre, the Field/Hedge Maple is one that's fairly popular as a bonsai subject. Yew is another good bonsai subject. Instead of growing out, why not visit some more heavily wooded areas and look for some small/dwarfed collectables.

Beech, english oak, holly (maybe).

Not an English native particularly but should be hearty in your zone: Larch, quince, blueberry, boxwood, peach, pear, crab apple.

There thats enough to keep a body busy for a decade or more.
