Hemp with swirly leaves

I have this hemp plant that I've trimmed down the last month or two to make it a bonsai.
Today I noticed two of the leaves being all swirly (if you look at it from underneath it creates a swirl).

I wonder what this could be?

I've seen that on Hops as well - I think it's a reaction to the root-pruning. The next leaves out, though, will be normal.
