Angie,

Welcome :)

We would need to know more about the bathroom [ Temps, Lighting etc..] in question..
Hereis a care sheet about Serissas.

I think you will find this pageof interest also [In it's entirety].

For now I would focus on the articles on Watering, Beginners basics, Indoor culture, And soil.

I look forward to the pictures,Hereare some tips on taking pictures that will be most helpful.

I neglected to mention your watering also, Please tell us about that. {How often it needs it.} A humidity tray would be helpful to your tree.

Please do review the soil article on the site I linked to, You may find your soil a bit ...lacking in some of the beneficial properties of proper soil. It looks to be of a fairly compact structure.

We will be around to answer any questions you may have.

thanks for reply I only got the tree on wednesday I have bought a humidity tray and checked the soil for it being damp it was very dry so I waterd it with a liter off tepid water with a 5ml off food I am going to repot it in to a larger 24cm x 16cm x 6 cm pot with bonsai pottig soil I have bought mesh to go over the holes do I need to put snall stones are gravel in the bottom aswell I know the soil already in it is very compact hence buying more soil and larger pot to repot but not sure when to do this as regards watering I have been cheking soil for dampness and when not very damp I will re water it
the bathroom gets plenty off day light and is quiet warm most off the time I'm a bit nesh so I like my house warm all the time lol

Angie,

I think the heat and humidity of the bathroom are fine for this species. To my thinking the light level would be the determining factor. My bathroom is too dim for plants for instance.
I have bought mesh to go over the holes do I need to put snall stones are gravel in the bottom aswell
No additional drainage layer is needed. This is the subject of a bit of debate. Older texts, or older folks, insist that you need a drainage layer but current thinking contradicts this. Due to surface tension, the water in a pot will migrate toward the finer textured layers in a pot. By placing a layer of gravel in the bottom what you actually do is to raise the water table within the pot. The best draining medium is one that is uniform from top to bottom.
I know the soil already in it is very compact hence buying more soil and larger pot to repot
I'm not really sure what you are considering when re-potting. By mentioning "more soil" I get the impression that you intend to do what is commonly referred to as a slip pot. This is where the intact root-ball is placed, largely undisturbed, into a larger pot and then backfilled.

If this is what you have in mind I suggest against it. As per my previous remarks the best situation is to have a uniform medium throughout. If you leave the old medium at the center of your pot with looser medium at the edges you have created a situation where you have two different zones in the same pot. One zone will always be either too wet or too dry, never evenly moist.

As far as the timing of the re-pot I don't grow this species so I will have to defer to the link you were given earlier.
