first seedling sprouted

My first seedling from a tree seed sprouted! I'm so excited! I just felt like I had to share this milestone.

All of my first generation trees were seedling Japan maples.

There are few dearer trees than a seedling just making its first leaves/needles. it-they aint bonsai yet. But your hook has been set.

Next collect a few more mature trees to start practice pruning-wiring.

That's good to hear. What seed did you plant?

I unintentionally planted some pine seeds. This past summer I collected pine cones from around my neighborhood, and I placed a couple of them around one of my Japanese Black Pines. I thought it looked nice. Towards this winter I noticed a few seedlings sprouting up around my JBP. :P

I tried some Japanese black pine I bought online. Its my first attempt at any type of tree seed..Thats pretty cool though about the pine cone you planted.
