I recently picked up a Bonsai tree and have been trying to find information of the care for the plant. I am not sure what type of Bonsai my tree is and understand that there are various species needing specific watering, lighting, temperature and all that good stuff. My tree's trunk looks like a giant knot with vines (they may even be the roots I'm not sure) protruding out of the trunk into the gravel and into the soil. the gravel is also all in one piece like it is stuck together by glue. As far as I know it is not a flowering tree, only green leaves are present with new sprouts. I also havent transfered the tree into a pot I am still keeping it in the plastic stuff it came in. I noticed that a few of the leaves were developing brown spots and some are quite oily. I also live in Wisconsin so keeping the tree outside this time of year is out of the question (we just got hit with 10inches of snow with plenty more to come).
As you can tell I'm a novice and could use any helpful advice
thanks
