Yes,
Get it in in a [larger] training pot with proper soil [Far more gritty than the current-That looks almost like potting soil ]and back outside it goes to: let it grow let it grow let it grow. A good look at the nebari would help to determine the front.

Nope, Without seeing the nebari I have no idea where the front of this tree is. For Literati [Bunjin] Some more movement in the trunk would be essential as well as a tighter placement wrt foliage and branch development etc..
