I've had my bonsai tree for a couple of months now and it had been doing really well.
However for the past week or so it's been loosing an awful lot of leaves, I'm not too sure why or how to even stop it. I'm not sure what type of bonsai tree it is, but will add a couple of photos of the tree and the leaves that have fallen off.
Any help would be great.

My Zelkova is dropping its leaves - I have only had it a few weeks. The care label on the packaging says to avoid direct sun and warm or cold drafts and not to allow to dry out. I assumed it would be OK to keep it indoors.
With the help offered on this site in terms of identification, I genuinely believe it is a Zelkova and not a Chinese Elm. From this, I also understand that this tree should not be kept inside over the winter. But I live in Wales and it's nearly freezing now.
Is it safe to put this tree outside immediately and leave it there over the winter, or should it have a period of being hardened off in a cold area before? If it is put outside what sort of watering should it have, if any? Presumably the rest of the leaves will drop off now?
Any advice will be most welcome. Thank you!

Zelkova should be outdoors; yes. Knowing the weather in Wales; you should protect the roots with mulch. You should also protect it for the wind.
There is a lot of info about putting a tree outside here on this forum. Learn as much a you can about Zelkova before you do something with it.
I should not put the tree outside in Whales just like that. Put it outside for a few hours; and build it up.
Good luck!!
