A quick update! Whatever the hell I'm doing seems to be working! The tree is looking great! Thanks so much to everyone for their help on this forum! When is a good time to start feeding him? I was thinking May'ish... Is that too soon or too late? Thanks in advance!

That is good news indeed, and you are welcome. Its good to hear about a success story. The tree is looking great! Thanks so much to everyone for their help on this forum!
That sounds about right. Play it by ear, when the weather warms and you start to see new growth on the local trees you should be fertilizing. When is a good time to start feeding him? I was thinking May'ish... Is that too soon or too late?

It is always good to have an idea of what you want to end up with style-wise [As knowing the destination helps you plan the route to get there you know ]
That lower LH branch with no needles left may not come back- Was that intentional? BTW, Junipers should never be trimmed by cutting the foliage as this causes the tips to brown. ALWAYS pinch. Pruning branches is a different story but that ship has sailed .

Hi!!!
I finger pinched the whole tree!!
I want a bit of foliage to return on that lower branch for a bit of balance, however, if it does'nt happen, thats ok too, as I could then go for the windswept look which was my plan b if something went wrong.
As for wiring, I'm curious how long a Juniper should stay wired for? I read that Junipers can't stay wired over the winter, is this true? If it is, it puts a serious dent in my wiring plans
Thanks!

Alex,
Looking at your wiring prompts a few observations. Some of it looks too tight, some looks like it is not doing anything and it all looks too small. Have you been able to move your branches with that small of gauge wire? Your wiring "scheme" does not seem to be effective.

Alex,
Can you possibly post a virt or drawing of where you want to take this tree.
I am having a hard time deciphering what your intentions are from the photos and whats left of the tree.
Does this tree have any nebari at all, A picture without all the surface paraphernalia might be helpful also. Actually you might ant to review this stickey.
