Initiation on Bonsai care :)

Hello!

I'm new to this forum, and decided to share my first experience on bonsai... would be great if somebody could tell if I'm way wrong or something. :)

It starts with a gift from my wife. A Thuja bonsai:

Well, it was far from good looking, so I removed the grass and did some pruning... the result:

(better, but not quite there yet)... so I decided to repot it to increase growth for a few months... it's now looking:

The second one is a really nice Azalea (common in Brazil). I bought one at a nursery shop, not flowering yet, and that's how it's looking right now:

I'm not sure if it's the best line, angle or right time to prune... but on the first week I can see leaves forming quite well...

The last one, just arrived from a nursery store is a Jaboticaba (https://www.bonsai-express.com/products/1619-jaboticaba.htm), and I just pruned it to reduce size... hope to be able to repot it in Feb, late summer in Brasil.

I'm using normal garden moister(is that the right world?) to the vases, and I'm not convinced is the right choice. Watering is ok, but takes too long to dry...

Well, it's being a week now, and I'm really excited! Hope everything goes well. I'm using a "plant food" indicated at the nursery to be used every 15 days mixed with water...

Any hints welcome! :D

Thanks a lot!

victorhg,

You seem to instinctively know that your soil is lacking.

Are you keeping all of these inside? Do you have any outdoor options?
