Bonsai care

I got a Bonsai tree as my birthday gift.I live in minnesota, USA.
As temperature is really cold I kept the tree inside the house.
I am watering regularly. But the tree is becoming very dry.
I am worried if it will die.
Do we need to change the soil regularly?
Is it ok if I put the plant indoor?
Do we need to cut the leaves and roots regularly?
I beleive watering once a day is sufficient?
Please help me.

before we can do anythign, we need to identify what type of tree it is. Do you know the name of it? does it ahve leaves, or needles. (ex: somethign like maple for leaves, or pine for needles). If possible, please post pictures.

You can post pictures for free on photobucket. Registering is easy and it will allow us to further help you care for the tree. Don't do anything major until you identify the tree. Good luck with the pics.

kameswari,

Joe and Souki are correct It is almost impossible to offer meaningful advice without a proper identification. Please describe your watering practices in more detail. I find it odd that you are watering every day and the tree is dry. Is the soil dry or the foliage? If you need help posting photos just let us know, and welcome to the forum.
