Yellow leaves

I have a dwarf luseanne arboricola the bottom leaves are turning yellow and falling off. I'm new at this. It is in direct sunlight, watered when needed and fertilized. I' ve had it for two months help will be greatly appreciated

Are any of petioles blackening after this happens?

If these are lower leaves, it may just be normal growth. Schefflera can take quite a bit, too dry, too wet. BUT, only if they're established and it's not constant. What you describe could also be the beginnings of root rot, but if you're not seeing any blackening, it would be very early on. Without pictures, the best I can offer is to monitor your watering carefull and water only once the soil is dry.
