Hello, I just got this bonsai as a gift, and I have no idea what it is, it didn't say on the box so I thought I'd ask here!

Can anyone help me identify it?
-Michael
Ok, thanks
Sorry, I didn't have my digigtal camera so I had to use my webcam which obviously didn't suffice. I will take a better picture when I get home (hence to my digital camera). - I don't really know what you mean by cylidrically tapered tip shoots. No, I havn't pruned it yet. I only just got it yesterday . I am thinking maybe it is tree of a thousand stars?
Anyways, will post new pictures once I get home, hopefully I can also get a close up on a leaf too
How do you check for milky sap?
-Michael.

Michael,
Can you inquire at the place you purchased it? This is a species that I do not grow but check out the link below.

The Ficus that I am familiar with has pointy shoots (before they open) at the tips.I don't really know what you mean by cylidrically tapered tip shoots.
When you prune Ficus a milky sap flows from the wound that is why I asked if you pruned it.How do you check for milky sap?

Ok, so, here they are. The pictures of the (so far unconfirmed species) bonsai!

Michael,
Much better pictures, particularly the closeup. I think you may be correct in your identification, although as I said this is not a species that I am personally familiar with. Try google to find pictures to compare against. Sorry I can't be of more assistance but I did fix the link above.
