we have been to a few more plant stalls over the past few weeks taking pictures of bonsai as we go, I hope you enjoy them, so here goes,

this one in flower, notice the coconut soil, I am now thinking that out here it is more important to keep the soil damp as it is so warm out here,

it was one of this collection,

this one growing over a rock,

I am not sure what this ground cover plant was,

I am not sure if this is a bonsai or a cut off tree,

new for me the plants, Juniper I think, have two colour foliage, green and a creamy white,

I am again not sure what this plant is,

I did like this bonsai over rock,

but for me I really liked the moss as a cover plant,

there were two nice ones here,

at another plant market I noticed these examples, tree roots making the pot,

with a nice little fern growing through the moss,

I did not ask the price, the problem out here is that when you do the owner thinks it is going to be a sale,

this one is at the same place I bought our bonsai from 1,300 baht ($42.35, ...£26.54), I hope everyone likes the pictures, as usual we will keep looking for more examples, the good news is that we have to go to Bangkok in about 6 weeks time, so I will take more pictures of bonsai then, sfk.

Your mystery ground cover is Selaginella. The ROR Ficus looks like burtt-davyii and the red tipped tree looks like Eugenia myrtifolia. The "trunk chop" is both, a "used to be a tree" and "developing bonsai". Trunk chopping is a method used to get super-fat trunks with lots of taper.

I think you're getting us used to being envious :p or maybe I'm just not in the 'let's go buy an airline ticket'-mood today...

Thanks for sharing :)

Oh, I wouldn't say that, well... maybe a little. But those two RORs are amazing, and I really like the potential of the first, a Malpighia.

I liked the natural wood/root containers. Very cool looking. I don't do bonsai, but have broms in an old cedar burl, and have used driftwood.

Love the photos!
