My Bonsai need a big help!

I have this bonsai almost 4 years. It was doing great until I moved for a few months therefore I gave my Bonsai to my friend to do plant sitting for me but unfortunately all leaves are gone shortly and almost became like dry wood. I am back in town again and my Bonsai is with me now. Could you please help me what to do to make my Bonsai to grow and become healthy again , I am so sad. I do appreciate any help and advise.
Thank you,
Fari

I love to show you the picture of my Bonsai before and now!
I am sorry I can not insert the pictures, I need help!

Fari... use photobucket to imbed your pictures into your posts.

Also have you scratched at the bark in different places to see if any of it is still green? Also what species is it?

Kindest regards,

And have you scratched the bark to see if there is any green left? If the bark is puckered instead of smooth, it is probably beyond saving. So checking to see if there is still life is the first thing to do.
