Hi:
I just scored an amazing collection of bonsai pots, 107 of them! Most are from c. 1980 and Japanese, but a number were made by Max Braverman. The collection has just about every kind of pot one could want. - large and small, oval rectangular and round, deep and shallow, cascade, etc, etc.
Now, I will be able to upgrade many of my trees from plastic pots to nicer digs.
So, tomorrow I hit the highway in my Roadmaster Estate Wagon with a thermos full of joe for a 400+ mile round trip to get them.
I'll Post pics if anyone is interested.
Whew!
Well, I made it home from a 450 mile round trip to pick up 107 pots.
Had a major blowout at 75 mph 20 miles from home. A miracle that I was not in a wreck, no damage other than to the tire rime, and no damage to the pots!
Triple A brought a flatbed and towed me and car home. Did I tell you the doughnut spare was kaput as well?
All in all, a great day...now I have some cleaning and photography ahead of me.

Well, these pots keep getting better...
Included in the lot are 6 Jim Barrett cascade pots for mame bonsai, each is a beautiful dark green, about 13.5" tall and 2.75" square at the opening, tapering slightly at the base. Very thin walls, but they would be fantastic for a mame cascade specimen. Here is a pic of a similar pot in blue, until I get pics of the ones I have.

Here are some pics of the bonsai pots I picked up yesterday. The tall green cascade vases on the left are Jim Barrett, each signed and dated in 1990. The Max Braverman pots are on the table on the right side.

The guy I bought them from had dozens of plants at one time. I asked him about the plants, and he simply said, "life moves on". I didn't press. He did have half a dozen beautiful Ficus Nerifolia he was still tending to. I think he lost a bunch during the unusually cold winter we had in South Florida.

I will consider trading some of the pots I have, except for the Max Braverman and Jim Barrett pots. Always interested in acquiring new pre-bonsai specimens. Particularly like ficus retusa, nerifolia or benjamina, desert rose, lignum vitae, sea grape, bougainvillea, portulicarai afra, ginkgo. Not interested in selling any pots outright. Local to South Florida within 150 miles of Hollywood FL only, thanks.
