Bonzai

I have a three year old Fukien Tea tree. When watering, the water now flows more quickly thru the soil. Before, the water seemed to remain in the soil longer before draining out. Not sure what this means.

Hello Tim, and welcome to the forum. I see you are from CT as well. Are you in a bonsai club?

As for your tree, what kind of soil is it in; 'bonsai' soil or regular potting soil? How often do you water it? If you can, please post a picture of the tree so we can see what we are working with.

I bought the tree from a bonzai museum/store in Texas. The owner seemed very knowledgeable, so I have to assume the soil is bonzai. And no, I do not belong to a bonzai club.
