browning juniper

my juniper is beginning to brown pretty much all over. my guess is that I am not watering it enough (about once every 3 days). how should I begin to water it to keep it alive?

also what type of fertilizer should I use? I have read through the articles on this website, but I am still a little confused about which type is best and when I should begin fertilizing.

one last thing, where I live the summers can get really hot (90+ for weeks), are there any special measures I should take to protect my trees (I recently got a new--er tree), such as putting them in indirect light. right now they sit infront of an east faceing wall and only receive sunlight until noonish.

thanks

Hi,
If your summers get that hot I would advise you to keep your Juniper in the shade and keep the soil moist but not wet, it could be brownig up if it has been allowed to get really dry and been in a windy position.
