Pecan Trees

Is it possible to Bonsai a pecan tree? I'm not expecting it to produce pecans, but I have two pecan trees in pots that are staying small and only producing small leaves. Is it possible to bonsai them, or should I just wait and plant them in the ground and let them become full sized trees?

well it has a long long way to go you can make it into a bonsai but you will have to wait maybe 10 more years for it to be workable material. I think your best bet would be to buy bonsai unless you want to it would take a long time but if you work on it it could be a very rewarding experience.

Hmm... I might rethink that then and go with my original idea. This is their first year so I wasn't expecting to do much yet.

My original idea was to plant them close, and slowly bend them in towards each other until they cross. I've heard hard woods will eventually fuse together, and that's what I want to happen.
