Defoliating Fukien Tea

Can they be defoliated and when. I have read so but I am not to sure.

My question is why would you want to de-foliate. The leaves on Fukiens are very small naturally, and that is the usual purpose for de-foliation.

I hope you will not do any defoliating until you get some more feedback. I'm not sure that this is a good practice for a Fukien.
