Japanese Juniper watering

I just bought a japanese juniper and I've heard that I have to water it once a day. I watered it yesterday and I checked the moisture with a moisture sensor today and it said that I didn't need to water it. Plus when I got it the trunk at the very base was black and moist. Any suggestions???

well. junipers like to dry out a little before a watering deepending on the pot it could take one or two even three days in hot conditions or several more in colder conditions. because of this watering every day isnt really a good idea. just let the soil get a little dry. Not too dry. then water it throughly. never let it sit in extremely soggy soil for to long this with encourage mold, and root rot which will kill it.
