Repotting

I was just wondering, looking at my Juniper Bonsai, I still have him in the factory pot in which he came in, been in there for about a year now, doing pretty well, my question is, is there a specific time of the year when I can repot him in another pot? I would hate to loose him due to my stupidity! Lol! Also, been reading alot about Junipers are a outside plant, mine has never seen the outside, affraid to, don't want him hitching a ride to Deadsville!! I live in MN, we are known for our harsh winters!! He is about a 10 yr. old tree, not from a throw together quick buy place like most of the department stores greenery sales, any help would be greatly appcriated :)

Well all junipers have to go through winter and yes they are outside plants. if it gets too cold like 20 or below just protect the pot and put it in a place where drying winds wont catch the greenery. as for reppoting wait till spring and choose something roughly 40% organic 60% grit.

Your juniper will eventually die if you keep it inside.
