My very first Bonsai. =)

Hello everybody, I'm completely new to this. I just bought my very first bonsai tree today, but here's the deal, I got no idea of what kind of bonsai this is, I mean, what species is this? Also, I would really appreciate ideas and directions on how I should take care of it, and even some ideas of things I could do with it if possible. I'm posting some photos I took of it below. Thank you.

Thanks for the replies guys, you're right, it is a juniper, a shimpaku, now, I didn't really like the way it was, I wanted it to be in a more upwards position, so I did this...

Can I leave it like this? Is it going to work? Or should I let it be the way it was before? Btw, I'm keeping it outside, by the window as advised. Thanks.

ABADDON,

There is no cultural reason to return it to its previous position. This is a matter of styling and is left up to the individual grower. Do you have any ideas where you will go from here?

Well, since I discovered that it is in fact a Shimpaku, I decided I would love to see it looking like this after some years...

I hope I'm not in over my head. I do realize this is gonna take not just quite some time, but also a lot of work, but I'm willing to learn and do whatever I need to to achieve my goal. Thanks for the help so far.
