I need help with moss

I live in Ms. and I keep finding moss in the yard and I cant keep it alive. Please help me out .

I have experienced the same problem as well. It seems like the only way to get living moss to grow on my bonsai soil is if it starts to grow there by itself.

Where are the trees in question being kept?

it is being keep out on my on the botom of my steps out side.it gets only morning sun.I may just take what I got out and let it start itself.

Shade and moisture are key to most mosses growing successfully. I would look for mosses that are growing in locations more similar to where the tree is to be kept. A daily misting does help.
