I recieved a Bonsai Gardenia Plant as a gift

When I opened up the box it came in from (1800flowers) I noticed a few yellow leaves. After a few days more and more yellows leaves appeared and are dropping. I called the company that sent it to me, they sent me another one. This one came in a box like the first one but frozen solid, the leaves where all brown and crunchy the soil frozen solid. Why in gods name would anyone freeze a tropical plant is beyond me.

Now the first plant with the yellow leaves now has knat type bugs and still has yellow leaves dropping.

Help what is wrong

Could possibly be that the tree is suffering from shock, fungi, and pests. Place in bright location, perhase replace the soil, water when aproaching dry, and spray with insecticide. This is the best advice I can give for now.
