Watering bonsai

Is using soft water for watering bonsai allowable or not? I'm not sure how many ppm of salt is in our tap water.

HOMEworks,

The usual advice is to avoid softened water for the reason you cited, salt. If possible tap into your water supply before the softener. I use untreated well water so I don't have those concerns.
