I have 2 bonsai the difference between them is that one has larger leaves
this is the one with smaller

To me it looks like the lower tree (the one we saw back in September?) is an Elm and I am still not certain of the new one. One thing that seems odd is that you say the Elm has larger leaves than the new tree. Chinese Elms usually have pretty small leaves. But, again, I cannot ID the newer tree so it is pretty hard for me to say which one should be larger or smaller.

In case you did not ask earlier or no one mentioned it yet I have to say that the soil your trees are in is likely part of the problem you are having.yes the pepper is dead now I have 8,5 bonsai(,5 because my first elm in not doing two well )
