Is this a good price?
I found this potting mix on ebay in large quantities. It would be $20 for 2 gallons, shipping included. I will be repotting at least two, maybe three trees this spring because their current soild are inadequate. Does this seem like a good price?

JTred,
Like Phil I mix my own, it is much less expensive that way. I did check a few sites that offer ready mixed soil and the price you cite was about the same as one and significantly lower than the other.
If your needs are minimal and you don't wish to go to the trouble of finding the components then ready made medium is definitely an attractive option.

Have to agree with Norm. If you've only got a tree or two, you'll need very little new soil per year. Buying a small amount of ready made mix is going to be much cheaper than buying bulk of different components that you'll probably never use all of. Well, you'll use it up eventually, of course, but th investment of time, for me at least, is not worth the initial savings.
I was hoping that was the case. I figure that, though 50lbs of Terface is the same price, the shipping cost will probably be higher. And then of course I have to get my hands on pine bark or wood chips. I could get random-species wood chips for free, but I have to wait until a tree falls to get it. I think 2 gal should be just enough to repot my two new pines. I think I will wait until next year to do my ficus.
