Charcoal water filters and bonsai watering

If water with a lot of flouride, chlorine, and salts is a problem, how well do charcoal water filters (such as Brita) work as far as making the water more bonsai friendly? Also, I've heard that letting water sit out for 24 hours will help some of the chlorine to evaporate, are there any other ways to make tap water better for bonsai or finding better ways of watering bonsai that don't get rain?

You can use distilled water. It's cheap (80 cents a gal. ) and worry free ( No chlorine, flouride or salts and the PH is neutral ). Pick up a Gal at your grocery store..
