Humidity tray rocks

Does anyone know where to get some decent, colorful drip tray river rocks? I just need a little but and I saw only HUGE bags at Lowe's and Home Depot. Also, is there any specific kind that would be better for providing humidity?

Thanks!

mosk1640,

How about aquarium gravel? The idea behind using gravel is to increase the surface area from which the water can evaporate so size does have some bearing. It probably does not matter that much so I'm not sure that it really matters what the gravel looks like.

I went to one of those local stone slab places. You know, where you go to get big quantities of rock slab or pine bark.

They're so used to selling tons of the stuff, when I brought a small bag of river rock (about an inch in diameter, smooth and flat) and asked her how much. She said 20 cents a pound. I put my small bag on her massive scale and it came up eight pounds.

She said Merry Christmas. LOL. I got them for free.

Hmmmm Yea I managed to see the river rock I want, its colorful and medium in sized to an average pebble I suppose.

Thanks all!
