My girlfriend just bought me a bonsai today, and she got one herself. It had no tag saying what type. If you could give me some help I would be much appreciative. but first things first, how do I get an image on here? I don't have a site to store it. thanks

It's a Ficus, probably retusa; good beginners tree, takes a lot of punishment with little complaint. You'll note some leaf drop when you change lighting, but other than that , pretty undemanding.
Look for all the usual evils; are those pebbles glued on? If so, lose them fast; I replace with moss, but even regular bonsai soil would be better than glued pebbles (shed water like an umbrella). As always, the more time outside the better; find that shady spot outside and keep it there until frost threatens, then a indirect light situation near a south, or east facing window. Look over the articles on the site for more bonsai care info...
