Help! Dying Bonsai!

Please help me!

I received a Camellia Bonsai as a gift about six months ago. It was doing fine, not flowering but looking healthy, until I moved two weeks ago. Now the leaves are all turning brown and falling off!

The bonsai only got a few hours of sun a day before I moved, but now receives many hours of hot Texas sun. Is it getting too much sun? Am I not watering it enough? Please advise.

Hello Nicole;

Camellias like a cool location with lots of light, but not direct sunlight.

I would move the plant to a cool shady area and water as you have been. The soil should be moist, but not wet. Water when the top 1 inch of soil is dry.

You're welcome.

Camellias usually bloom in the fall and winter. Keep the plant cool with lots of indirect light and I think it'll be ok.

Come back and let us know how its doing.
