Large Elm

Hi,
After a bit of help with my bonsai, I have a lovely Large Chinese Elm, however a few weeks after delivery all leaves dropped apart from a selected few. I have followed all care instructions and bark is still green and healthy. now nearly two months on and still no leaves. Is this normal.. when will they start to grow back? Thanks in advance for any support.

Is there gravel glued on top of soil? If yes please remove it at once. It was added to stabilize soil for shipping.

Always test soil for dampness (I use a chop stick), water if dry with hold if damp.

Hiya,
Goodness no, I would not have it if it had glued gravel on top.. sounds awful. I test dampness daily with the old chop stick trick but it's not that. Thanks for your reply
