Hello.
I'm brand spanking new here!
Just received a tree for my birthday and I'm a complete novice.
Any advice on the care, pruning etc of my tree would be greatly appreciated.
My tree is a Zanthoxylum, Pepper Tree.
I understand that I'm being a bit vague, but I'm completely new to this!
Thanks in advance. Very Happy

Hi db1,

I'm new here too, I've found that going through the past post was very helpfull and I'm starting to get a 'feel' for bonsai. I'll let the other more experienced people answer you questions though, I don't know enough yet to attempt that! Very Happy

old posts and the "sticky" at the top of the bonsai forum page are good to read I think I even remeber a post about a pepper treebest advice is to get as much info about that tree and then start applying what youve learned on this site

Do you have Zanthoxylum piperitum or schinifolium, natives to Japan, Korea, and northern China. The Japanese use the seeds from piperitum to make pepper. They are hardy usda zone 5-7.
Full sun.
That's all I know.
