I had a plant given to me two years ago and was told that it was a moon flower. It looks like a large leafed seadum only more purple, and although it did not bloom last year, the year before it had large white trumpet like flowers on it that opened at night. I have checked the local nurseries and what they have for moon flowers look nothing like this. What is it, because I would like to get more.
It sounds like moonflower by your description to me -
Maybe try getting seeds from the plant next time it blooms? Or, I found seeds in town through some old gardeners. You could ask your local garden club if anyone has some. Most people keep them to give as gifts.
