|

Don't mean to gross anyone out but I hate wasting things! I live in a secluded cabin and my bathroom is built into a stand alone building so i can share it (and the elec/water bill) with my brother who has an identical cabin next to mine, this also helps with the space issue with living in a small cabin. its closer and more convient to pee in the yard, but i was wondering if there are any plants which benifit from urine that i can plant and, well, pee on? Thanks for any info on my strange question. |

It is an odd question.
However, we have had discussions about dog urine before. Some dogs have a higher acidity to their urine and it burns the lawn, my dogs apparently do not and we have lots of odd, very green circular areas where they went. I'll have to find that thread for you. So I imagine it is the same for people... if you notice things dying you may need to drink more water. |

| Urine is mainly Ammonia with small amounts of nitrates. The ammonia is not readily taken up by plants but, converted to nitrates and nitriles when it is easier taken up. Yes, urine will burn plants therefore, the recommondation is to add it to your compost pile where the ammonia will be converted to nitrates that the plants can readily absorb. |

It is noted as being of particular benefit to stone fruits; can't remember where I heard that, but it is the sort of odd thing that sticks with me...

| Greetings, try a mixture of ten parts water to one part urine (human only), use on ornamentals, trees, shrubs etc. |
