PORCHULACA

Does anyone know what this flower prefers in terms of sun or partial sun? My mom keeps suggesting I plant this in my garden, but I can't find any information online about the flower.

thanks :)

I don't have any experience, but just read that they prefer full sun. Good Luck!

It's portulaca, and I'm not sure, but the name may refer to two different kinds of plant. The one I'm familiar with is a succulent with blooms and grows in all kinds of forbidding situations: western exposure, little water, clay soil (unamended, by the street).

That portulaca? Whatever you do, do not fertilize it. Just water it to get it established.

They like full sun, but are fairly tolerant of part sun situations.

Google moss rose plant (the common name) and you will find tons of info.

I have grown it in all situations, shade and clay soil to sun and great soil. It loves the sun and great soil and even thrived being dripped on all the time, but did just fine everywhere else, too.
