hey guys, I have a question for you all.. I recently got some seeds from a arbutus tree and planted them in the hopes that they would grow.. but I've heard that they need to be refrigerated for 2 months.. do you think the seeds I planted will grow? also has anyone ever seen a bonsai arbutus tree? will it even work indoors?

Not sure this would be a good candidate for Bonsai culture.
The leaves are a bit large but if it's your kind of tree, go for it.

What a cool looking tree. I luv the flaky bark. Smile

IMO, it's worth a try. If you have more seeds, it would probably be advantageous to stratify them as suggested, in case the ones you've already planted don't sprout.

And if/when you get them to sprout, definitely look closely at it's growing requirements. According to the Wiki entry, it doesn't look like they transplant easily once established. So it might make a better yard tree than a bonsai.

What a gorgeous yard tree it would make, though. Smile
