I have some seven year old roses. Is it possible to move them?

Yes, it is possible. Around now would be a good time, assuming you've had some frost already and your rose bushes have gone dormant. (You didn't say where in the world you are gardening, and it makes a difference for the timing.)

Dig the hole where the plant is going to go FIRST, so you don't leave the roots exposed. Prune the rose bush back, so the transplanted/ re-establishing roots won't have as much bush to support. Soak the ground around your rose bush so it digs up easier and dig it up with a generous root ball.

Here's a little article: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/asktoh/question/0,,592699,00.html
