Don't know what tree I have
Hello just signed up for this forum and I'm really curious about starting to learn about bonsais. I purchased a ginseng ficus and boxwood as I heard the two were easy to maintain. However my b day was recent and my girlfriend bought me two additional plante .. so I know one of them is a Japanese maple but I can't figure out the other one. I live in Miami FL and I have been reading a lot lately about these plants. So I read Maples don't do really good after zone 8, correct me if I'm wrong. Any tips to keep this Beauty alive. Also what fertilizer do you use for bonsai. Any name brand you like or recommend? One last this what plant is this? Not keeping them indoors but would like to know if some days I can.. thank you for reading this. I also put a preview of the maple just so u can see.

The glossy leaves with notched ends are a giveaway -- you have a fukien tea bonsai.
Not that I know anything about it, but by my personal preferences, the fukien tea is prone to being kind of twiggy and shapeless. Takes quite a bit of work to get it to give that bonsai illusion of mature tree in miniature and to have much definition:
