This link is to a story my wife found today and it completely explains a lot of questions I've had lately, for example, my last post was asking why I'm getting a different kind of pepper growing from my bell plant. I have gotten seeds that were labeled wrong before but all of the seeds did not produce totally different kinds of fruit on the same plant
I bought Hawaiian pepper seeds from the UH, there was bitter melon seeds inside. I did not have to plant them, because I recognized bitter melon when I saw them.
I bought yellow Brandywine tomato seed from Burpee. I actually never planted them, but Burpee sent an apology letter because so many customers had complained of how their yellow brandywine tomatoes were red. Burpee sent new seeds and bonus seeds.
