too cold for Amaryllis?

As many of you are well aware, my Amaryllis has been in the windowsill during the day, at night I take it and put it on my computer desk because the windowsill gets really cold at night. Do you think it has slowed the blooming taking it out and puttting it back the next day? I don't want it to freeze in the window, would it hurt it to stay in the window? How cold can it get before it damages the plant? It is supposed to get down to 17 degrees tonight and although there is a storm window on the outside of the picture window, it still gets mighty cold although the Amaryllis does not touch the cold glass.
